Workshop on SDR’s at Brownsville airport on July 22 at 9:30. Free coffee. Peter, Dick and maybe George will be there with equipment.
Peter said that the Brownsville Field Day had about 10 hams. They had planned for more.
George made about 100 contacts from home that day of 20 and 40 meters. Dick was working from Fun N Sun.

Program:
George a ham since the 1970’s give the program. He remember listening to 40 and 80 meters to guys talking to each other. Swan Radio had ham classes and he took advantage of this to get his license. One night in Vet Nam he was listening to Christmas music and it turn out to from the North with a report on the battle 5 days before and how many Marines they had killed.
He also showed the club a group of QSL card from around the world. He also discussed the rules on how to get them. It sometimes takes years between the contact and getting the card.

Austin Radio is going out of business. There will be a swap meet in Schertz outside of San Antonio.
George will have a lot of Amateur radio equipment for sale at the swap meet.
Fun and Sun radio club will need help for the Jalapeño 100 bike ride on Feb 21st.
Jodie Law, Ed Wagner, and Ralph Waddup will do the V.E testing at the ham fest.

The Christmas party will be at El Gallito on Dec 20th at 1:00 o’clock. It is at 2480 W. old US HWY77. Bring a $20 gift card for the charity.
The new officers are President; Pat Stotler, V.P. Peter Hoekzewa, Treasurer; George Salinas, and Secretary; Richard Cox. Directors are Enemenico Hernandez, Ted Berqwuam, and David Jones. David Jones will be the web master.
Aurora Cox will decorate the tables for the Christmas party. The speaker scheduled for the Feb. meeting will be a Border Patrol helicopter pilot. Barry Boothe’s party will be on Dec 22nd.

Everyone had a good time at field day. The wire antenna worked well when tuned up with the antenna tuner. Bob worked a couple of stations. Ralph worked quite a few stations after every one left. Ralph took down the pole and antenna and it is stored at his house.

Motion was made, seconded and approved by the members to buy a 50 ft. and 30 ft length of coax for the club. Jody will buy it and pick it up when they travel to Kansas.

The treasures report was read by Pat Stotler. The beginning balance was $2709.66. Outgoing expenditures were $29.99 for the Web Page and $743.00 for the radios purchased for the ticket drawing, Income was $84.00 in dues and $130 from Ted for the radio that he purchased. The ending balance was $2323.24.
Old Business:
Christmas party will be on 12/8/12 at 2:00 o’clock at Williams and 77 in San Benito. Bring unwrapped gifts for the Sunny Glen Children’s Home. They also need money or tickets to events.

Ted made the motion and George seconded and the motion was carried that the Tickets for the door prizes at the Ham Fest will be$1 each or 6 for $5.

Old Business—-Christmas party December 8, 2012 at 2PM at Xavier’s on 77 in San Benito.
The Ham Fest is January 26, 2013 at the Elks Club at 7AM for breakfast and then the Ham Fest stars at 8AM. George Salinas made a motion to purchase 3 hand held radios for prizes for $390. Ted seconded the motion and it carried. Jody will purchase them.
David Jones brought signs to put up at the parks telling about Club events.

Correspondence—Jody Law received information on Sunny Glen regarding Christmas exchanges.

Old Business—-Ralph brought up that the Radio Club to date didn’t have a current license. He was asked to take care of it on line.
We discussed a picnic and Bob and Lillian Raynor said they would host it at their home. It was scheduled for Oct. 20th at 11am. Everyone to bring a covered dish.

A committee of three members (George Salinas, Richard Cox and Carolyn Ross) was selected to be in a charge of selecting people for the new officers. The election will be held at the November meeting.
It was also decided that we would have the Christmas party around December 8th at 2pm.
Pat Stotler will take care of the place.

New Business—David Jones suggested that we take care of door prizes for the Ham Fest. We also need a date and time. It was decided January 19, 2013 at the Elks’ Lodge in Harlingen with breakfast at 7 to 8am with the Ham Fest at 8am. We decided on 3 or 4 small handheld radios. Jody Law to take care of that.

Discuss was held regarding finding a new charity this year to donate to. Jody made a motion and seconded by Bob Raynor to give to Sunny Glen. Motion carried. Dee Waddups will check on it.
A nominating committee will be named at the next meeting for new officers for next year.
Carolyn Ross will start sending out reminder for the monthly meetings with date and time.

The monthly meeting of the TSARC Inc. was called to order by David Jones, vice-president at 6:30 pm in the Harlingen Medical Center Office Building, 5505 Expressway 77/83, Harlingen, TX.

Minutes of the previous meeting were read and accepted.

Treasures Report was read by Bob Ross with an ending balance of $2,827.65. There was a charge of $8.00 added by the bank leaving a balance of $2,739.58 and a running balance of $2,701.66.

Correspondence—None

Old Business—-David Jones is checking on the sign for Tila’s.

New Business—Bob Ross checked into the Teachers’ Credit Union and requires a savings account. The savings account is a minimum of $25 plus a $1.00 fee to set up the account, then a minimum of $25 to set up a checking account. There are no monthly charges at the Credit Union. The first 150 checks are free. We are waiting for Pat Stotler to return to close out the other account. No dual signature is required.

Motion made by Carol Ross to accept and seconded by Ralph Waddups. Motion carried.

Carol Ross made to close the meeting and it was closed at 6:40pm.

Program was given by Glen Williams on hurricanes and what controls their motion.

The monthly meeting of the TSARC, Inc. was called to order by Pat Storler, president at 6:22 pm in the Harlingen Medical Center Office Building, 5505 Expressway 77/83, Harlingen, TX.

Minutes of the previous meeting were read and accepted.

Treasures Report was read with an ending balance of $2,827.65. No action in account this month. It was stated by Bob Ross that an $8.00 service charge will be added to the account with a balance of less than $3000. It was decided that Bob Ross would check out the Harlingen Area Teachers’ Credit Union to see if we could do better.

Correspondence—None

Old Business—-The bills were turned in for field day. Motion was made by Jody Law and seconded by Ralph Waddups to pay them. Motion was accepted and passed.

New Business—Jody Law made a motion to purchase a plague or poster to place on the wall at Tila’s, where we eat breakfast for the Radio Club. David will check this out for the Club.

We discussed a place to have field day and that we would have it at Bob & Lillian Raynor’s home, on Jun 28, 2012 after breakfast at Tila’s.

Jody Law made a motion that the club purchases the food and drink and everyone is to bring a covered dish. Motion seconded by Ralph Waddups. Motion carried.

We also discussed an antenna and no discussion was made.

Motion was made by Carolyn Ross to adjourn and it was seconded by Pat Stotler. Motion carried and the meeting adjourned at 6:55 pm.

February 7, 2012

The monthly meeting of the TSARC, Inc. was called to order by Pat Stotler, president at 6:35PM in the Harlingen Medical Center Office Building, 5505 Expressway 77/83, Harlingen, TX.

Minutes of the previous meeting were read and accepted.

Treasures Report was read by Robert Ross and accepted with an ending balance of $2,894.15. We only lacked $1.85 on the radio and equipment for the swap fest.

Correspondence- Jody Law received an application for the renewal of the Club’s Radio license, from W5YI. The Club call is KD5YRP. Information was given to the treasurer to issue a check for the renewal.

Old business-Pat Stotler reported that attendance at swap fest was larger than last year, everything went fine. We were invited to have it there again next year.

The prizes for next year were discussed and nothing was decided. We mentioned that the drawing should be done at a set time. We decided to have our swap fest on the third Saturday of January, 2013, if available.

Ed Wagner would take over setting up and testing for new hams and upgrades at the swap fest next year.

New Business-Vice President, David Jones stated that the website was up todate.

Motion was made by Russ Lamb and seconded by Ed Wagner to adjourn the meeting. Meeting adjourned at 7:50 PM.

Treasures report was read by Robert Ross and was accepted with an ending balance of $1,893.15.

Correspondence:
A letter was received from the Ronald McDonald House, thanking us for the Christmas gifts.

Old Business:
Regarding the ticket sales for the swap fest, it was decided that the treasurer, Robert Ross would collect for and take care of the tickets.

The TSACR, Inc swap fest will start at 8:30AM, with breakfast from 7 to 8 AM.

The need for a disk was discussed and a decision was made that George Salinas would purchase a set up disk for the FT-857D Radio
