Meeting Minutes

TSARC, Inc.

January 8, 2008

The first meeting in 2008 of the Texas Southmost Amateur Radio Club, Inc., was called to order by Rudy Monsevalles, president, at 6:30 p.m. at the First Community Bank, 787 South Sunshine Strip, Harlingen, Texas. There were 14 members present. All officers were in attendance. TSARC, Inc. director George Salinas was present, other directors Charles Brabham and Russ Lamb were absent.

Rudy called for a moment of silence for our now Silent Keys, WA5ZRP Charles “Ducky” Brabham and KD5PELTommy Fee.

MINUTES

The secretary read the minutes of the December meeting. The minutes were approved as read.

TREASURER’S REPORT

The treasurers report was given by Bob Ross, our new treasurer. His report was approved and accepted as read.

INTRODUCTION OF VISITOR

Rudy introduced our visitor, Mark Prange.

CORRESPONDENCE

We received a thank you from the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Rio Grande Valley for the children’s gift the club donated at Christmas.

MEMBERS COMMENTS

Particia “Shadow” Raney requested that we as a club participate in hosting the Rag Chewer’s Net on the STARS repeater, and requested that more members volunteer. Following was lengthy discussion surrounding our involvement in this activity. Several volunteers signed-up for specific dates and times to assist in hosting the net. The subject was tabled for further discussion at a later date.

OLD BUSINESS

A follow-up on the TSARC, Inc. Swap Meet activities was addressed. All assigned tasks were reported as complete or as on-going and would be completed by Saturday, January 19^th.

NEW BUSINESS – postponed until next meeting.

The meeting adjourned at 7:45 p.m.
